WHAT WE DO

We work with senior executives in areas where internal expertise is not readily available, when an unbiased perspective is desired and when expert testimony or arbitration services are needed. Our strengths lie in our ability to provide clear solutions, direction and assistance in improving overall operating performance, and strengthening a company's balance sheet and A.M. Best financial ratings for our consulting clients. Our broad, first hand experiences in senior executive management and operating roles provide valuable expertise for arbitration and expert witness services.

Depending upon the client's need and interest, we focus on one or more of the following:

Business Strategy Assessment and Development

A corporate strategy may require periodic assessment or revision for a number of reasons. For some, strategy becomes blurred as a result of subtle changes introduced over a long period of time, perhaps due to market shifts or undesirable operating results; for others, owners may want to shift focus to different business segments; or, in a surprising number of cases, we find there is no defined, universally understood strategy in place.

We look at whether an existing strategy is adequately supportive of the owner's objectives. Is it realistic and sustainable in today's market given the structure and limited resources one has to deploy? Do the management team and employees have sufficient discipline, experience and knowledge support to succeed? Are they sufficiently flexible to capitalize on fortuitous opportunities?

Rating Agency Relationships, Communications and Presentations

Nothing will improve stock performance, investor, customer and employee confidence like improved operating results. No company can afford to lose their A.M. Best rating, fall below an A-, or receive the warning label "with negative implications" associated with their rating review.

Insurance Perspectives + Solutions works with management and A.M. Best to quickly identify and fully understand any concerns the rating agency may have about a company, making sure they are legitimate, and not merely based on perceptions or lack of understanding.

Once the critical areas likely to impact the rating are identified, we introduce realistic corrective actions designed to not only be effective, but to regain the confidence of that company's A.M. Best team. At management's option, we can work along side their team or coach from afar in the implementation of the needed changes.

We work closely with management in the development and presentation of  their discussions with A.M. Best, while serving as a liaison to further improve the rating agency's confidence in the company's ability to deliver a compelling plan. A.M. Best says, "a clear, proper and professional presentation could, by itself, make a full rating grade difference."

Mergers, Acquisitions and Affiliations

Whenever a merger or acquisition is an option, Insurance Perspectives + Solutions assists in the identification of target candidates, conducts due-diligence, performs a valuation analysis and determines the extent to which it meets your strategic, operational and financial criteria.

Because we have conducted due diligence analyses at more than 75 property and casualty companies throughout the United States, we have developed a refined, comprehensive process that includes more than 400 evaluation categories. Organization, Individual and Team Management Assessment

The effectiveness and speed with which an organization can implement and react to change often depends upon the effectiveness and strength of the organization's management team and structure. Insurance Perspectives + Solutions assesses the complexity of an organization and identifies ways in which to improve the timeline from problem to solution to implementation to results.

A senior executive or Board of Directors frequently finds value in the opinion of an experienced, independent source when evaluating performance or potential of an executive, or the effectiveness of his/her management team. We provide such assessments and, when desired, provide individual or team coaching to members of senior management.
