PROFESSIONAL PROFILE

FRED G. MARZIANO, President

Fred Marziano brings many years of leadership and success in the property and casualty insurance and reinsurance businesses to his role as president of Insurance Perspectives + Solutions. During those years, he gained a reputation as an industry visionary, pioneering innovative marketing strategies, achieving dramatic turnarounds of two companies and building a third from zero to $2.3 billion in just two years.

Fred formed Insurance Perspectives + Solutions, an independent insurance consultancy, to assist CEOs and CFOs in identifying ways to increase the support and confidence of stakeholders, rating agencies, and analysts. This is achieved by evaluating a company's strategy, performance and management capabilities from their perspective, then developing a plan for closing gaps and properly presenting results.

Over the course of his career, Fred has assessed more than 75 property and casualty insurers in the process of building and restructuring companies through acquisition. He knows what to look for in evaluating fiscal and operational strength. He also knows how to restore strength when difficulties arise. In transforming the companies he ran and advised, Fred introduced new products and channels, drove down combined ratios, and drastically improved customer satisfaction and financial results.

Highly regarded by his peers throughout the industry, Fred has served as President of Continental Insurance Companies, President and CEO of Gerling Global Reinsurance Corp. of America, on the boards and/or executive committees of several insurance companies and industry organizations, including the Insurance Services Office, American Institute for Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriters, Reinsurance Association of America, National Council on Compensation Insurance, the Association of California Insurance Companies, and Delphi Systems and Inroads, Inc., a job-training program for disadvantaged youth. He is certified by ARIAS-US as an arbitrator for alternate insurance/reinsurance dispute resolutions and frequently serves as an expert witness, having been qualified by the U.S. District Court as an expert.

Fred lives with his wife and young daughter in Belmar, New Jersey. He is also the father of three grown children.
